A woman has been found dead in a residence in Ängelholm, in southern Sweden, and a man close to her has been arrested on suspicion of murder. Police were alerted at around 17:00 on Wednesday, according to Expressen, Aftonbladet and SVT.
The residence has been cordoned off and will be examined by police forensic technicians. Relatives have been notified.
Police press spokesperson Evelina Olsson said that interrogations will be held with the suspect. "A technical examination will be carried out at the scene. When we have this type of case, we usually also carry out door-to-door inquiries in the area," she said.
Olsson said that officers will also speak to any witnesses. "The man will be interrogated. We will also hold interrogations with any witnesses. It's routine work that is ongoing out there," she said.
Police have declined to give further details about the woman and the man. "It is so early in the case that I can't go into more than that," Olsson said.
