Major Fire Erupts in 10-Story Swedish Apartment Building
A major fire engulfed a ten-story apartment building in Landskrona, Sweden overnight. At least four people were hospitalized as firefighters from five stations battled the blaze. Emergency crews evacuated residents while assessing whether others should shelter in place.

A severe fire broke out in a ten-story apartment building in Landskrona around 3:00 AM on Monday morning. At least four people were transported to hospitals, according to emergency services. Officials warned the number of injured could rise.
Gustaf Sandell, the rescue service commander on duty, described the situation. "This is a fully developed fire in a seventh-floor apartment," he said in a statement.
Rescue crews evacuated multiple residents from the building. Emergency personnel maintained contact with residents still inside. They continuously assessed whether people should shelter in place or evacuate.
Five fire stations responded to the blaze. Firefighters worked both inside and outside the building. Police and ambulance crews also arrived at the scene.
Landskrona is a coastal city in southern Sweden with approximately 33,000 residents. The city sits near the Öresund Strait, just across from Denmark.
Apartment fires in tall buildings present particular challenges for firefighters. The height can complicate rescue efforts and fire suppression. This incident shows how quickly fires can develop in multi-story residential structures.
