A large garage fire threatened nearby homes in Lørenskog, Norway on Thursday. Police confirmed all residents from the adjacent house were safely evacuated. No injuries were reported in the incident.
Emergency services responded to the blaze as flames spread rapidly. The operation leader noted the fire posed serious risk to the residential building.
"The fire is burning intensely and there is danger of spread to the dwelling house," officials stated in their operational log. Fire crews worked to contain the blaze and prevent further damage.
Lørenskog is a municipality in Akershus county, located just east of Oslo. The area contains both residential neighborhoods and commercial districts.
While the immediate danger to residents appears contained, property damage from the fire could be substantial. Garage fires often spread quickly due to stored vehicles and flammable materials typically found in such structures.
