A truck overturned on the Sønderjyske Motorvej M50 near Kolding, and three other vehicles were involved in the accident, Sydøstjyllands Politi said. The motorway was closed to northbound traffic while police and rescue crews worked at the scene.
According to preliminary investigations, the truck driver lost control of the vehicle. The truck was heading south in an overtaking lane when the accident happened, then ended up on the side of the road where traffic was heading north and overturned. The driver was not injured.
One person who was not seriously injured was taken for examination. The remaining people involved were unhurt.
Police said there was no time horizon for how long the operation would last and urged drivers to find alternative routes. Police also reported a truck overturning on the same motorway in the westbound direction at exit 62 Kolding Ø, where the road was fully closed, and an accident on the Taulovmotorvejen eastbound about 2 km before exit 61 Taulov, where the motorway was also closed.
