Two cars caught fire inside a parking garage at an apartment building in Sollentuna overnight Thursday. The multi-story residential building is located in the Sjöberg district north of Stockholm.
Emergency services dispatched multiple units to the scene. "We have several resources on site," said operations leader Lena Hoffman from the rescue service.
Firefighters worked until 3:45 AM to extinguish the blaze in the ground-level garage. Hoffman confirmed two vehicles were burning and smoke had spread through several stairwells.
By 4:30 AM, rescue services announced they were packing up and leaving the location. No injuries were reported, but the cause of the fire remains unknown.
This incident highlights the fire risks associated with underground parking facilities in residential buildings. Proper ventilation systems and fire safety measures become critically important when vehicles burn in confined spaces beneath homes.
