Police continue investigating a fatal hit-and-run incident in Silkeborg. A 44-year-old man from Aarhus was found dead on Nordskovvej road Saturday morning.
Officers believe a fleeing driver struck the man and left the scene. The incident was reported to police at 5:50 AM when medical responders were dispatched.
Police supervisor Jens Claumarch said in a statement that witnesses should still come forward. He confirmed the victim's relatives have been notified.
Authorities have closed the road between Frederiksberggade and Nordskovpassagen. Police dog units joined the investigation at the accident site.
Investigators now plan to review area surveillance footage. They suspect the involved vehicle has front-end damage.
Midt- and Vestjyllands Police urge anyone with information to call 114. The investigation has not yet identified the driver or vehicle.
This tragic case highlights the challenges police face when drivers flee accident scenes. Without immediate witness cooperation, finding responsible parties becomes increasingly difficult as evidence grows cold.
