Manual Traffic Control After Norway Highway Collision

Three people went to hospitals after a two-vehicle collision on County Road 76 in Velfjord. Emergency services responded to the accident near Vandalsvikvatnet lake Monday morning. One patient traveled by air ambulance while two others went by ground ambulance to Sandnessjøen Hospital.

Road conditions remained extremely slippery according to officials at the scene. The situation created long traffic queues in both directions.

Authorities initially closed the road between Stegan and Sæterlandet. They implemented manual traffic control around 9:00 AM with expected resolution by 10:00 AM.

Medical conditions of those involved haven't been disclosed. This stretch of Norwegian coastal highway frequently challenges drivers during transitional seasons.

The temporary traffic management system highlights how quickly conditions can change on Nordic roads. Local drivers know these mountain passes require extra caution during temperature fluctuations.
