Olaug Bollestad has been named an honorary member of Rogaland KrF during the county party’s annual meeting held on Saturday. The decision was made in recognition of her long-standing political contributions at the local, county, and national levels. She stepped down as a representative to the Storting for Rogaland KrF in the autumn of 2025. Bollestad first assumed the role of Storting representative in 2009, initially serving as a deputy representative. From 2013 onward, she served as a permanently elected representative until her departure in 2025. This means she held the position for over fifteen years in Norway’s national legislature, representing the Christian Democratic Party from Rogaland. The title of honorary member is one of the highest distinctions that can be awarded within KrF’s organizational structure. According to party guidelines, it may be granted to individuals who have shown extraordinary dedication through internal party work or through political service at the municipal, county, or national level. In addition to her legislative role, Bollestad also served as national party leader until she resigned in August 2024. Her resignation followed the submission of a formal notice concerning her leadership style, which had generated internal discussion within the party prior to her stepping down.
