Police in Oulu are investigating an assault that occurred early Thursday morning. Officers received reports of a fight around 4:30 AM. A man had been struck in the head during the altercation.
The victim fell after being hit and landed in the Plaanaoja river. A police patrol located the man in the water. They pulled him to shore and began resuscitation efforts.
Authorities later located a suspect in central Oulu. The man, born in 1975, was arrested on suspicion of assault. Police say the men had been spending the evening at the same restaurant before the incident.
