The Conservative Party's selection committee met this weekend at Lyebu Hotel. They interviewed candidates for the party's new leadership positions.
Sandra Bruflot confirmed her candidacy for deputy leader after meeting with the committee. She told reporters she expressed her interest in becoming the party's second-in-command.
Bruflot currently serves as a member of parliament. She previously led the Conservative Youth organization. Now she heads the party's women's forum.
She emphasized the need to appeal to female voters and centrist groups. "If the Conservative Party wants to perform well and win elections, we must reach women," she stated. "We need to connect with more center-oriented voters, and I hope I can contribute to that."
Bruflot's background suggests she could help bridge gaps between the party's traditional base and moderate voters. Her dual experience with youth politics and women's issues positions her as a candidate who might expand the party's appeal.
