A woman struck and killed a suspected wolf Friday morning near OksbĂžl, north of Esbjerg. The animal died at the scene. Police confirmed the collision occurred around 7:30 AM.
Authorities have transported the carcass to the Nature Agency in BlÄvandshuk. Experts at Aarhus University's Natural History Museum will determine if the animal was indeed a wolf.
Local police stated the incident appears accidental. They do not plan further investigation into the collision.
This marks the second potential wolf death in the region this October. Another young wolf was killed weeks earlier on Vejers Havvej road just kilometers away.
Wolf sightings remain rare in Denmark, where the species only recently began reappearing after local extinction. These repeated road incidents highlight the challenges wolves face in human-dominated landscapes as they attempt to reestablish territories.
