Danish police have arrested two men for helping a 15-year-old Swedish boy attempt a contract killing. The suspects aged 20 and 25 were detained Thursday morning in connection with a planned murder in Værløse.
Authorities say both men have ties to organized crime groups. They allegedly prepared a loaded pistol with ammunition before July 1.
The weapon was later given to a teenage boy recruited from Sweden. Police say the youth traveled to Denmark specifically to carry out the murder.
The plot failed when police arrested the teenager and two other men before the killing could occur.
Henrik Andersen, a police inspector with the National Unit for Special Crime, called the case deeply concerning. He stated that exploiting children for serious crimes is unacceptable.
Andersen confirmed investigators continue to pursue all links in the criminal chain. More arrests may follow as the probe continues.
A court in Lyngby ordered both suspects held in custody until Wednesday after their preliminary hearing.
Six people now face detention in the case. A fourth man was charged in mid-July following the initial arrests.
All six suspects will have their detention reviewed on November 5. The extension suggests prosecutors see ongoing risks in the case.
This incident highlights growing concerns about criminal networks recruiting minors across Nordic borders. Using teenagers for violent crimes represents a disturbing trend that challenges law enforcement across the region.
