Two men have been remanded in custody at Uddevalla District Court on suspicion of arson at a car firm in Uddevalla, SVT reported.
The men are aged 25 and 35, and one of them has previously been convicted of a crime. According to Bohusläningen, police took the two suspects in on Friday, just over a week after the fire. Both were remanded on Monday.
The fire broke out in the car showroom late on Wednesday evening, 14 October. No one was injured, but police said early on that they suspected the blaze had been set deliberately.
Police have said they are investigating whether the incident can be linked to earlier shootings and fires at car showrooms in Uddevalla. "We are looking at whether it could be connected to previous events," local police area chief Martin Öhman said in connection with the fire on 14 October.
Shootings and deliberate fires took place in Uddevalla during 2022 and 2023. In the autumn of 2025, there was an attempted murder when a man in his 30s was shot with a pistol but survived. Earlier cases have had links to organised crime.
