A van left the road and rolled onto its roof in a ditch near Saarijärvi on Thursday morning. The accident occurred around 9 AM on Route 69, approximately 15 kilometers north of Saarijärvi town center.

Two people were inside the vehicle when it crashed. Both managed to get out independently before emergency crews arrived. Officials confirmed no serious injuries resulted from the incident.

Rescue services responded to the call shortly after 9 AM. Leevi Hetekorpi, the duty fire chief, stated that both serious injuries and traffic disruptions were avoided.

The temperature in Saarijärvi was around freezing at the time of the accident. Road conditions remain unclear as no weather warnings were active in Central Finland.

Hetekorpi noted, 'I cannot confirm the condition of road surfaces. At least no warnings about poor driving conditions are currently in effect for Central Finland.'

This incident highlights how quickly road conditions can change in rural Finland, even without official warnings. Drivers should remain cautious on forest roads during early morning hours when temperatures hover near freezing.
