Police have made another arrest in a shocking murder case from spring where a man was shot and killed in front of a 12-year-old girl. The arrested person is a woman in her 30s who will face a custody hearing on Wednesday. Authorities confirmed she faces charges of involvement in a homicide in Søborg, a suburb of Copenhagen.
The incident occurred on the afternoon of May 2nd on Novembervej in Søborg. A 35-year-old man sat in a car when several perpetrators approached the vehicle deliberately. According to witness accounts from the scene, a 12-year-old girl was also in the car at the time.
Police previously stated the 35-year-old victim was brother to a man connected to criminal gang circles. The man initially suffered serious injuries and was hospitalized, where he died two days later.
This marks the fifth arrest in the case. One week after the shooting, the first suspect was detained. Six days later, two more individuals were arrested and remanded in custody. On May 26th, a fourth man was taken into custody.
The case has been heard behind closed doors, keeping specific details confidential. Danish courts sometimes close proceedings to protect sensitive information or witnesses.
This arrest demonstrates police continue active investigation into the brutal daytime shooting that traumatized a young witness. The pattern of multiple arrests suggests authorities believe several people participated in or facilitated the crime.
