Driver Flees Police at High Speed Through Western Finland

A dangerous police chase unfolded across Western Finland on Tuesday morning. Authorities received reports of a vehicle driving erratically around 10 AM. A police patrol spotted the car and ordered the driver to stop. Instead of pulling over, the driver accelerated toward Jalasjärvi at high speed.

Police say the fleeing car exceeded 200 km/h for nearly the entire pursuit. The driver created multiple dangerous situations by overtaking other vehicles across solid yellow lines. The chase continued from Jalasjärvi toward Kurikka and then to Koskenkorva.

From Koskenkorva, the vehicle headed toward Ilmajoki. Just before reaching central Ilmajoki, the driver turned left onto Kauppilantie road toward Laihia. Several police units were now following the suspect.

Facing overwhelming police presence, the driver finally pulled into a private driveway along Highway 3. Officers arrested two people from the vehicle. Both face suspicion of serious traffic endangerment and aggravated drunk driving.

This high-speed chase across multiple municipalities demonstrates the risks police face daily. The driver's decision to flee at extreme speeds put countless lives in danger across Western Finland roads.
