Police received reports of a car driving erratically in Lapua around 10:30 AM on Tuesday. Officers spotted the vehicle and ordered the driver to stop. Instead, the driver sped away toward Jalasjärvi at high speed.

The fleeing car maintained speeds exceeding 200 km/h for most of the chase. The driver created multiple dangerous situations by overtaking other vehicles while crossing solid yellow lines into oncoming traffic.

The pursuit continued from Jalasjärvi through Kurikka and Koskenkorva. The car then headed toward Ilmajoki. Just before reaching Ilmajoki's center, the driver turned left onto Kauppilantie road toward Laihia.

Several police units joined the chase at this point. The driver eventually entered a private property driveway along Highway 3. Police stated this appeared to happen when the driver realized the situation had become hopeless.

Officers arrested two people from the vehicle. Authorities suspect them of serious traffic endangerment and aggravated drunk driving.

This high-speed chase covered approximately 50 kilometers across multiple municipalities in Western Finland. Such dangerous driving puts all road users at risk and requires significant police resources to resolve safely.
