Five Charged in Major Cocaine Case Linked to Stockholm Bombing

Five individuals face charges for serious narcotics crimes in Stockholm. Authorities connect the case to an explosive attack in Tumba.

Prosecutors say the suspects participated in handling approximately one kilogram of cocaine. The drugs were intended for resale on the illegal market.

Simon Pittuco, the lead prosecutor, stated in a press release that the drug deal appears to be the motive behind the Tumba explosion. A hand grenade was thrown into the wrong apartment in late April. Two people sustained serious injuries.

The accused include four men and one woman aged between 30 and 55. They are now formally charged with the drug offenses.

Meanwhile, the investigation into the bombing continues separately. A mother and child were seriously wounded in that attack. Two men in their thirties were arrested in early May on suspicion of carrying out the grenade assault.

This case highlights the violent reality of drug trafficking conflicts spilling into residential neighborhoods. The mistaken target shows the reckless nature of these criminal acts, putting innocent lives at direct risk.
