A major overnight fire ripped through two garage complexes in Ängelholm, southern Sweden. Emergency services received the initial alarm around 2 AM.
The blaze started in one garage building. Firefighters launched a large-scale response but could not prevent the flames from spreading to a second structure. The fire was largely extinguished by 4 AM.
"Two garage buildings have burned down," said Erik Eiman Joelsson, the officer in charge at the rescue service, in a statement to local media.
Approximately thirty vehicles were either completely destroyed or damaged in the fire, according to rescue services.
Police and ambulance crews also responded to the scene. No injuries have been reported despite the extensive property damage.
Ängelholm is a municipality in Skåne County, located about 90 kilometers north of Malmö. The quick spread between buildings highlights the fire risks associated with storage facilities containing vehicles and flammable materials.
Local authorities will likely investigate the cause once the scene is secure. The complete destruction of two structures suggests challenging conditions for firefighters despite their rapid response.
