Search Continues for Missing Man in Eastern Finland

Police in Eastern Finland continue searching for a 26-year-old man who disappeared in early October. The man was last seen in Mäntyharju on Monday around 5-6 PM.

Investigators report the situation remains unchanged despite some public tips. Lead investigator Detective Inspector Marfa Raipela said they welcome additional information.

"We have received some tips, but people can still report information," Raipela stated. "So far, the tips haven't led to any breakthroughs, so we're happily accepting new information."

The missing man is from Mikkeli but may have been in the Ristiina, Kuomiokoski, and Mäntyharju areas. Police confirm he visited some people in Mäntyharju before disappearing.

Social media groups in the Mikkeli region have seen numerous private posts about the disappearance. Local residents are sharing information and expressing concern about the case.

The man is described as slim-built and 180 centimeters tall. He has tattoos on his neck, face, and right hand, though his clothing at the time of disappearance remains unknown.

Eastern Finland police are asking anyone with information to call 0295 415 232 or email vihjeet.ita-suomi@poliisi.fi. The investigation continues as authorities follow all available leads.

The prolonged search highlights the challenges of locating missing persons in Finland's extensive forested areas, even with active community involvement and social media attention.
