Two people were found with serious injuries in a Västerås neighborhood on Monday evening. A passerby discovered the victims and alerted police around 10 PM.
Police are investigating a suspected violent crime in the Södra Gryta area of northern Västerås. Officers have launched a major operation at the scene.
Magnus Jansson Klarin, a police spokesperson, confirmed the situation. "We have a large police presence on site," he said in a statement. "Two people sustained serious injuries."
Emergency services transported both individuals to hospital by ambulance. Police declined to provide details about the victims' ages or genders.
Investigators are currently interviewing witnesses and searching for suspects. Multiple police patrols remain active in the residential area.
"We're working to gather observations from the public," Jansson Klarin explained. "This occurred in the middle of a large residential neighborhood."
Authorities confirmed there is no ongoing danger to the general public. The case remains under active investigation.
