Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre addressed the incident directly. He acknowledged public fear about grenade violence reaching Norwegian communities. "People are right to be frightened when grenades appear in Norwegian towns," Støre said in a statement. "Grenade explosions have no place in Norway."
Police arrested two suspects following the explosion. Investigators are examining possible connections to another grenade incident. A similar explosion occurred at Bislett in Oslo during late September.
Norwegian authorities expressed confidence in their investigation. "The police are highly competent here," Støre noted. "They are conducting investigations that should provide answers. We will draw conclusions when we have more knowledge."
