Police have cordoned off parts of the Lina hage residential area in Södertälje, Sweden. Officers responded after someone threw a suspected dangerous object outside a home. Authorities established security perimeters extending roughly 100 meters around the object. Residents within the cordoned area received instructions to stay away from windows and doors facing the affected zone. Stockholm police spokesperson Daniel Wikdahl confirmed the situation in a statement. "Our assessment indicates this involves a live explosive device," Wikdahl said. "We also assess that residents within the cordoned area remain safe as long as they stay indoors." The emergency call came in at 6:11 PM on Thursday. Police are investigating the incident as attempted murder, attempted public destruction, and violations of laws governing flammable and explosive materials. Södertälje, located approximately 30 kilometers southwest of Stockholm, has faced similar security incidents in recent years. The immediate police response and extensive cordoning suggest authorities take the threat seriously, though no injuries have been reported.
