Two teenage boys face robbery charges after stealing a car and phone from a 19-year-old man. The incident occurred around 1 AM Saturday morning in Haslev, a town in southern Zealand.
Police say the victim was threatened with what appeared to be a pistol during the robbery. The assailants then took his vehicle and mobile phone.
Officers arrested the two suspects later that night in Næstved, located approximately 25 kilometers from Haslev. Both boys are 16 and 17 years old.
A police supervisor confirmed the arrests occurred hours after the robbery. The suspects appeared before a judge at the Næstved Court on Saturday morning.
The court ordered both teenagers to remain in custody for four weeks. Because they are under 18, they will likely be placed in a closed youth institution.
Police cannot confirm whether the weapon used was a real firearm. The investigation continues as authorities determine the exact circumstances.
This case highlights ongoing concerns about youth crime in Denmark's smaller towns. The quick arrest shows effective police coordination across neighboring municipalities.
