Aalborg Airport Airspace Closes Again Over Drone Activity
For the second night in a row, Aalborg Airport's airspace was closed due to suspected drone activity. Police found no drones after a search. The Danish PM says more such incidents are expected.
Aalborg Airport in Denmark closed its airspace for the second consecutive night. Authorities suspected new drone activity in the area. Police shut down the airspace at 11:40 PM on Thursday. It reopened just under an hour later at 12:35 AM.
Christian Tilsted, the duty officer for North Jutland Police, commented on the situation. 'We have thoroughly searched the area and found nothing,' he said in a statement. This incident follows confirmed drone flights at four Danish airports the previous day. Aalborg's airspace was also closed then.
Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen addressed the nation via video late Thursday. She warned that Denmark should expect more such 'attacks'. The repeated closures highlight a clear vulnerability in national security. These disruptions cause real logistical and economic headaches for the airport and travelers.
