Pilot Reports Drone Sighting Over Southern Stockholm
A pilot spotted unauthorized drones over southern Stockholm during a morning flight approach. Police have launched an investigation but haven't located the operator. The incident raises concerns about airspace security near Sweden's busiest airport.

A pilot reported seeing one or more drones circling south of Stockholm on Tuesday morning. The alert came around 11:30 AM as the aircraft approached Arlanda Airport. Police spokesperson Rebecca Landberg confirmed the incident in a statement.
Landberg said the sighting occurred in the Farsta area, a suburban district south of central Stockholm. Authorities have not located any drone operators yet. They opened a criminal investigation for negligence in air traffic.
Drone flights near airports pose serious safety risks to aircraft. This incident highlights ongoing challenges in monitoring unauthorized drone activity over urban areas. Stockholm police regularly deal with such reports but rarely catch perpetrators.
The investigation continues as authorities review airspace monitoring data. They urge anyone with information to contact Stockholm police.
