Police arrested three minors following an explosion in central Oslo on Tuesday evening. The incident occurred at 20:43 near Pilestredet in the Bislett neighborhood.
Officers discovered an additional explosive device at the scene. Police conducted a controlled detonation of what appeared to be a hand grenade.
Operation leader Brian Skotnes told NRK: 'There has been a detonation of an explosive device on Parkveien behind us. We also found an undetonated object resembling a hand grenade, which we exploded.'
Authorities first detained one minor shortly after the explosion. They then raided an address in Oslo and apprehended two more minors.
Police believe the incident connects to criminal gang activity. No injuries have been reported according to current information.
A large area in central Oslo remains cordoned off. Traffic disruptions affect the area, including nearby tram services.
