All involved individuals went to hospital after the crash. Police confirmed overnight that two women aged 20 and 25 died from their injuries. The other victims sustained no life-threatening injuries.
'This is an extremely tragic accident with many difficult circumstances. The investigation will determine exactly what happened,' said police spokesperson Magnus Jansson Klarin in a statement.
Eight people total were involved in the collision. The two deceased women traveled in the car carrying the most passengers.
